The Lincoln Trail District Health Department has safety recommendations for Hardin County residents coping with flood waters. It says people should avoid contact with such water as much as possible.

The health department warns of contaminants that can cause serious health problems. Linda Sims, Director of Lincoln Trail District Health Department, stated in a release, "We want to protect the health and safety of the community and those affected by the floodwaters. One way we can do this is to remind everyone to stay out of the floodwaters. I know that a child may find it fun to play in the floodwaters, but it can be dangerous to their health and safety."
