HUDSON, Iowa --- After enduring weeks of raw sewage and increasing mold, one building's tenants are finally moving out.

Residents of an apartment complex affiliated with the Skyline Motel on Washington Street are vacating at the request of motel owner Rafiul Farazii due to serious mold and water damage from a backed-up sewage line late last month.

Shahaed Hasan, Farazii's son, said his family has been unfairly portrayed as uncaring landlords who were behind on their mortgage.

Hasan said his parents corrected the sewage problem and claims residents didn't tell them how bad the mess was in their apartments until the Black Hawk County Health Department came knocking.
