Legislation has been introduced in the Senate to regulate exposure to toxic mold in residential buildings, and to define procedures to report and remediate mold infestation. Sen. Beatrice A. Lanzi (D-Dist. 26, Cranston) sponsored the bill, (2011-S0108), in an effort to ensure public health from hazards commonly associated with high levels of toxic mold.
